The Intercontinental Network of Organic Farmers Organizations (INOFO) recently convened at the 8th Global Farmers Forum hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) at its headquarters in Rome. Over the course of two days, farmers’ organizations from across the globe gathered to address crucial issues, perspectives, and opportunities in collaboration with IFAD and other stakeholders within the agricultural sector.
Representatives from diverse regions and numerous countries came together to engage in discussions vital to the advancement of sustainable agriculture. INOFO played a pivotal role in ensuring that agroecological and organic perspectives were prominently featured throughout the deliberations. Our organization actively contributed to panel discussions and various interactive sessions, emphasizing the importance of incorporating ecological principles into agricultural practices.
As part of our commitment to fostering dialogue and inclusivity, INOFO organized a side event focused on intergenerational farming realities. This session provided a platform for youth and senior farmers to exchange insights, share experiences, and explore collaborative approaches to address the challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector.
INOFO reaffirms its dedication to promoting agroecological solutions and organic farming practices on a global scale. Through constructive engagement with IFAD and multi-stakeholder partners, we aim to champion sustainable agricultural development that prioritizes environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic resilience.
